The 2006 AARCMCC Victorian IC Championships have been run & won, with local boy Jesse Davis taking out the 8th scale title, and South Australia's Simon Camelleri claiming the 10th scale pro tourer class, despite the rather warm weather which hit 43 degrees at one point.
1:8th scale nitro
Simon Camelleri got away to a great start but engine failure got the better of his car 27 laps in, and with both Jovanovic boys out due to radio glitches & wiring problems, it left Jesse Davis to try and hold off Tim Westwood for the win - consistent driving & reliable equipment paying dividends for the local boy.

1:10th scale 200mm pro tourers:
Camelleri once again took the lead early, some strong early competition from both Steven Jovanovic & Jesse Davis proved fruitless after Steven's motor ceased, and Jesse's rear belt broke, Peter Jovanovic's race ended with a busted 2nd gear, and Ash Seward's charge was cut short by a busted 1st gear which dropped him back to 5th place. A consistent drive from Dave Calwell put him on the podium, but just wasn't quick enough to match the speed of Simon Camelleri, taking the win with 97 laps.

Full credit to MRCCR for a fantastic event, I only managed to see the 2 finals at the end, but from all reports the event was great. |
