Japan was the host of the 2007 IFMAR Off Road World Champions and the Japanese spectators weren't disappointed as Japanese Hotbodies Driver Hayato Matsuzaki won the 2007 IFMAR 2WD Off Road World Championships driving the Team Associated B4 chassis.
Matsuzaki, driving a slightly modified version of the Team Associated B4 using some HB Cyclone D4 shocks and parts, took the 2WD TQ with authority and was always going to be the man to beat after a rather wet leadup to the event. Team Associated dominated the 2WD class with no less then 8 cars slotting into the Top 10. Mike Truhe did a stunning job to sit in 2nd position after qualifying in an attempt to upset the Associated party, so it would interesting to see how he would fair.
Luckily for the competitors, it remained a dry event for the duration and although Matsuzaki was out raced in A-1 by a number of US Associated drivers, he showed why he was the TQ holder by winning A-2 and A-3. This gave him the 2WD IFMAR World Championship with Jared Tebo and Ryan Maifield rounding out the podium places.
