ACTMCRC Newsletter – March 28, 2006.
Hi Guys,
the next On Road Race meeting is on April 4th.
the next Off Road Race meeting is on April 25th. (**FUN NIGHT**)

2006 Enduro
The first Enduro for 2006 is scheduled for the 2nd of May. This promices to be a real test of man and machine as this time were only allowing 1 car per team. Get your entries is soon.

Interclub round Two. Tempe.
We’ve given all the other clubs a head start, now it’s time to show ‘em what were made off. Round two will be held at the Sydney Model Autosports Track in Sydney ( If your thinking about going, contact Mark at racing.

Offroad Fun night.
Everyone had a blast at the fun night with the eventual winners being: Micro’s: Rodger, Buggies: Mark and Trucks: David. Jake Anderson took victory in the ‘hill climb’ by being the only driver to be able to casually drive his Tamiya Buggy on to the drivers stand via a ramp set to 66+ degrees. David Bird took victory in the Drag Racing with a 3.265sec run.

Offroad Trophies.
Due to a supply problem, we were unable to award trophies at the Offroad fun night. The trophies will be awarded on the 4th and the 25th of April.

On Road Club Championship.
After round five (remember after the final round, your worst result will be dropped from your total).
Novice: Its pretty much status quo for the Novice drivers with a battle for 3rd place between Alan and John, 5 point is the gap. After a couple of poor rounds, Steve Roderick’s lead narrows to just 6 points over the constant and improving Daniel Malaquin.

F1: If Rick Sammons thought he had this in the bag he hadn’t counted on the Muffin Man baking up some new batteries. Currently first place is tied between these two with Drift Bird only 3 points back. Matt Barham is well within striking distance should anyone blink in the last round.

Mini: Shane cracks the double century while Michael Schrieber drops into 2nd place dropping Dion to 3rd and Zac off the podium.

540: At this stage, Shane looks good for a win, but with Brian 12 points away he will need to avoid the problems he experienced in the last meeting, Ian looks good for a podium finish in his first season back in RC racing.

540 Pro: It’s easy to see why Ian Carswell drove as hard as he did at this weeks meeting to hold 3rd in the final when you look at how close he is to Marco, the gap is now just 10 points. Mil Rojic only has 4 points on Trevor Hennock for 3rd place.

Stock: Rick continues to be the class of the Stock field with out right victory in the last three rounds, Ian looks safe for 2nd and Rick in 3rd.

Modified: With a motor that screams like a dentist drill, and in complete surprise, Mark leads the Modified class from Michael Schrieber and Roger Shapland.

Off Road Club Championship.
2WD Buggy - Stock: Daniel held his Dad off with a gap of 9 points to take the win. First time off road driver Steve Roderick scored third place by 1 point over Robin King.

2WD Buggy - Modified: Mark drive his Losi to victory over the Associated hoards in the 2WD Modified class. Shane Kelly finished 2nd and Malcolm Sharp scored 3rd..

4WD Buggy: Sam Wrangle has stamped his authority on the 4WD Class with an 18 point margin on the Tamiya drivers of Michael Schrieber and David Bird who were just 1 point apart for 2nd and 3rd.

Micro: Even with his temporary retirement to help at home with the birth of his Baby Daughter, Stephen Cheung takes victory from Michael and Daniel.

Monster Trucks: After the worst rounds were dropped, David bounced all the way off the podium to 4th with Malcolm Sharp in 3rd. Ian Carswell finished 2nd and Ben Steiner managed to hold first in a very 2nd hand TL01T.
